 THE THIRD MODULE OF TRAINING
OF TRAINERS ''GLOBAL ETHIC AT SCHOOL''

In order to establish a dialogue and scientific platform together with teachers from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, the TPO Foundation successfully organized the third training of trainers "Global Ethic at School" in Konjic (17.- 19.03. 2017.). Unlike the previous meetings that were realized through lectures and reflections on various issues related to gender equality, social justice, human rights and peace education, participants and participants from several bh. cities had a unique opportunity to participate in interactive lectures dedicated to open issues which are related to Ecology, dialogue of religions as well as foundations in monotheistic and other world religions for ecologically conspicuous life and in dialogue.

THE SECOND GLOBAL ETHIC WORKSHOP FOR
PRIMARY SCHOOLS OF HERZEGOVINA-NERETVA CANTON

After the realization of first global ethic workshop for teachers of primary schools, TPO Foundation  in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Herzegovina – Neretva Canton has organized on March 11 - 12, 2017 second global ethic workshop for teachers of primary schools. Eighteen religious, history and Bosnians language teachers were exploring different areas and aspects of global ethic in educational and social context. Since these teachers working in elementary schools in Mostar, Rama, Čitluk and Konjic lecturers tried to cover different aspects of global ethic and enable dialogue and exchange of experiences and knowledge in the field of peace education.

THE THIRD GLOBAL ETHIC WORKSHOP FOR
PRIMARY SCHOOLS OF SARAJEVO CANTON


In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton on March 9-10, 2017, TPO Foundation organized third Global Ethic workshop for primary school teachers of Sarajevo Canton.
Pedagogues, social workers and teachers of history from eleven primary schools actively participated in this seminar and questioned various aspects of successful integration of this program into the existing BH education system.

TPO FOUNDATION COMMEMORATED THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY: SOCIAL JUSTICE AND LABOUR RIGHTS OF WOMEN AND MEN IN B&H

How does the current government treat the labour rights of women and men? Is there a long-term concept to solve these problems in a country where the news on bankruptcy are a daily routine? What are parental and gender rights of women workers? How much the reform agenda does not solve the issues and why is there such a resistance to commemoration of this day? Those were the issues discussed at the activities organised by TPO Foundation on the occasion of International Women's Day.

INVITATION THE PANEL DISCUSSION ''SOCIAL JUSTICE AND LABOUR RIGHTS
OF WOMEN AND MEN IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA''



Recognised as the International Women's Day March 8 is a day when we remind ourselves of historical battle of women for equality in society but also that this struggle is not yet over. Women are still legally discriminated in many parts of the world and in some countries; although they have formally equal legal rights as men it is just a dead letter. TTHE FIRST GLOBAL ETHIC WORKSHOP FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS OF HERZEGOVINA-NERETVA CANTON


After the realisation of educational cycle of global ethic integration into teaching processes of secondary schools in Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, TPO Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Herzegovina – Neretva Canton initiated the cooperation with primary schools in this canton. Therefore the first global ethic workshop for teachers of primary schools of this canton was organised on March 4 - 5, 2017 in Mostar.

THE SECOND GLOBAL ETHIC WORKSHOP FOR
PIRMARY SCHOOLS OF SARAJEVO CANTON


The second global ethic workshop for primary school teachers of Sarajevo Canton was organised on March 2-3, 2017 due to three – year cooperation between TPO Foundation and Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton. Teachers of Islamic and Catholic religion and pedagogues of ten primary schools from Sarajevo Canton had an opportunity to adopt various information related to successful integration of global ethic into formal educational processes and to improve already existing teaching methods.

ETOS OF GENDER EQUALITY IN SARAJEVO



Oppression, exclusion and subordination of women is justified even today in the name of religion and God and every single step forward and discussion about these themes cause discomfort and fear. Fear of being recognized as a feminist, fear of losing the acquired position, fear one will not be desirable for marriage and partnership with the point of view that counteracts discrimination based on religion prevail.

ANTI STRESS TRAINING OF TRAINERS IN KONJIC

A line of exercises, a line of creative expression, a line of proper breathing, a line of conversation and a line of laughter. This would be a short description of a three-day anti stress training of trainers (TOT) for pedagogues from Herzegovina-Neretva Canton from 10 schools that was organised by TPO Foundation in Konjic on February 22-24, 2017. In order to treat adequately the challenges they are faced with in their everyday work, pedagogues must develop the protection mechanisms and find proper response to stressful situations. In accordance with that the response was provided within this very training.

ETOS OF GENDER EQUALITY IN MOSTAR


It is emphasized that religions have potential to promote gender equality if their interpretations are inclusive and universalistic during the seminar on gender equality held in Mostar on February 09, 2017. IMIC Center Zajedno, TPO Foundation and Youth Forum Mostar with the support of Ecumenical Woman's Initiative gathered students and teachers from Herzegovina-Neretva Canton to discuss gender, gender theories and gender identities themes from the perspective of science and religious tradition of Christianity and Islam.

Peacebuilding, emancipation and responsibility of human beings toward local and global world, gender equality in secular and religious discourse and its significance represent the spectre of themes that marked the second module of Training of Trainers ''Global Ethic at School'' (27.-29.02.2017). The lecturers on this module were Professor Nerzuk Ćurak, Zilka Spahić – Šiljak, PhD, Alen Kristić, MA and Monja Šuta – Hibert.

ETOS OF GENDER EQUALITY IN TUZLA CANTON

How to achieve gender equality, what is the role of religion in teaching gender equality and how to reconcile secular and religious argument to empower women and men for ethos of partnership in family and community? These questions were discussed during the one-day seminar on Ethos of gender equality for schoolteachers in Tuzla Canton that was conducted on January 25, 2017. TPO Foundation in collaboration with IMIC Zajedno from Sarajevo, Omladinski forum Mostar and the Pedagogical Institute Tuzla organized the seminar and Ecumenical Woman's Initiative from Omiš financially supported the project.
This seminar falls into the broader Global ethic program that empowers male and female teachers on humanity, non-violence, and gender equality. Seminar facilitators Zilka Spahić Šiljak, PhD and Drago Bojić PhD presented how to use secular and religious resources to pursue partnership of women and men instead of hierarchy and exclusion and what are the resources in Christianity and Islam that can contribute to gender equality debate.

THIRD SEMINAR ON GLOBAL ETHIC FOR
PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN TUZLA CANTON

From January 23 do 24, 2017 TPO Foundation conducted the third Global ethic seminar for primary school teachers. Over twenty teachers who teach philosphy, sociology, Bosnian, English, and German language as well as physics and general classes learned more about the core values of humanity and reciprocity. With adequate methodology and literature they got empowered to integrate universal messages of Global Ethic in the existing subjects they teach. The seminar is conducted by Zilka Spahić Šiljka, PhD, Monja Šuta-Hibert, MA, and the guest lecturer Drago Bojić, PhD.

SECOND ANTISTRESS SEMINAR IN CANTON SARAJEVO

We gathered again a group of excellent teachers and pedagogues from primary schools of Canton Sarajevo. TPO Foundation organized the second Antistress seminar on from January 18-20, 2017 led by Amra Delić, who works at the Clinic of psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Medical School Greifswald in Germany and she is also a research fellow of EU Marie Sklodowska Curie Action "Children born of war" and Zilka Spahić - Šiljak. The goal was to help them to become aware of their stressors and to learn how to handle them both in privatre lives and in their schools. Only empowered teachers and pedagogues can properly address the challaenges of peer and gender-based violence. These are the themes they will be working on in the next three years in collaboration with TPO Foundation team.

THE SECOND WORKSHOP OF GLOBAL ETHIC
FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS OF TUZLA CANTON

TPO Foundation continues its work successfully in 2017 after successful cooperation and initial workshops ''Global Ethic at Primary Schools''. In accordance with that the second workshop ''Global Ethic at School'' for primary school teachers of Tuzla Canton was organised on January 16-17, 2017. 23 teachers of Islamic and Catholic religious teaching, and subjects Society, Culture and Religion, Civil Education, Mathematics, BCS language, Informatics, History, German language and Chemistry had an opportunity to acquire knowledge related to global ethic and its potentials in education as well as some of teaching and learning methodologies characteristic of collaborative work approach. Workshops were held by Professor Zilka Spahić – Šiljak, Monja Šuta - Hibert, MA and accompanied by guest lecturers Izet Numanović's who is an expert advisor in Pedagogical Institute of Tuzla Canton and friar Franjo Ninić, a Catholic theologian.

ANTI-STRESS SEMINARS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Do we know what stress is, how to recognize stressors, how to cope with stressful situations, what the techniques and strategies to use for dealing with stress and preventing accumulation of stress and how to mitigate its consequences? These were the questions discussed by teachers and pedagogues from Canton Sarajevo, Tuzla Canton and Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. Anti-stress seminars are organized by TPO Foundation from Sarajevo in collaboration with the Ministry of education, science and youth of the Canton Sarajevo and with the support of the Norwegian Government. The first seminar was held starting on January 04-06, 2017 for teachers and pedagogues from ten schools. Only a teacher who is empowered and who has support from her/his school community can properly address problems of peer and gender-based violence.

VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN UNDER THE MASK OF A SMILE:
THE AWARDED COMIC BY AMINA GANIĆ


This year's winner of ''Awaken Your Humanity, Initiate, Change'' competition, Amina Ganić is a first grade student of Dobrinja Gymnasium in Sarajevo, Department of Performing Arts. Amina sends the message it is the high time we awakened, moved and stopped closing our eyes in front of violence that happens all the time and is usually directed against women and children. Children are mostly affected because they grow up in unhealthy surroundings in which violence is acceptable behaviour. Amina's comic invites teachers primarily to recognise child's suffering which might be deeply hidden under the mask of a smile.

TPO FOUNDATION TOGETHER WITH SECONDARY AND PRIMARY SCHOOLS
FROM B&H MARKED HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

TPO Foundation ended this year's campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender based Violence by commemoration of International Human Rights Day and reminded present ones how positive social trends are unimaginable without constant fight for protection of human rights and battles against all forms of violence among which is violence against women and girls. The promotion of collection of stories and comic narrations entitled ''Everything We Do (not) Want to Know'' as well as the collective exhibition of the best comics from the competition ''Awaken Your Humanity, Initiate, Change!'' were organised and five best comics were declared.

THE MARCH ON HUMAN RIGHTS DAYS IS HELD IN SARAJEVO

On Saturday, December 10, 2016 TPO Foundation joined the march ''Human Rights on Agenda'' in collaboration with Sarajevo Open Center, Foundation CURE and many other NGOs. The march started from the Academy of Art at noon and ended in front of the Institutions of BiH. Participants read some of the march messages in order to draw attention of BiH government that they have to apply domestic laws and international human rights norms, and in particular women's rights, worker's rights and minority right including sexual minorities. TPO message this year was in a short message: ''Awaken Your Humanity''. Human rights cannot be taken partially. It is a package to preserve the dignity of every human being.

THE THIRD OPEN CLASSROOM IN THE MUSEUM OF LITERATURE AND PERFORMING ARTS B&H

Life and work of B&H poetess Razija Handžić was the occasion for gathering of students from Railway School Centre in the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts B&H on December 08, 2016 within the international campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender based Violence. TPO Foundation organised the third open classroom for secondary school students in order to promote female creative endeavour that is unfortunately extruded from memory and schoolbooks. The founder of the Museum Razija Handžić is an example of how women and their creative endeavour have been systematically erased and marginalised.

16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM IN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS

More than 500 students from 24 B&H schools engaged themselves in issues of gender based and peer violence together with their teachers during the campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender based Violence under the motto AWAKEN YOUR HUMANITY, INITIATE, CHANGE. In cooperation with Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Pedagogical Institute of Tuzla Canton and Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton TPO Foundation implemented a string of educational activities in primary and secondary schools from Herzegovina-Neretva, Tuzla and Sarajevo Cantons. On December 07, 2016 all schools organised small campaigns for their students and teachers within this very campaign.

BOGEY FEMITEACHING AT THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY IN ZENICA

The open classroom with students from Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica that was organised on December 06, 2016 showed that gender equality, violence against women and other related themes are still bogey and unease. This year students had an opportunity to see the animations of comics from the edition Bogey FemiTeaching that TPO Foundation prepared in order to problematize important issues of women human rights and discrimination of minorities. In conversations that professor Edisa Gazetić and TPO Foundation project coordinator Melika Šahinović had with students it was shown how tension between cultural norms and standards of universal human rights is powerful.

THE SECOND OPEN CLASSROOM IN THE MUSEUM OF LITERATURE AND PERFORMING ARTS B&H

The second open classroom for young people from Secondary School of Textile, Leather and Design from Sarajevo was organised on November 30, 2016 in the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts B&H. The open classrooms are a part of educational activities within this year's campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender based Violence conducted by TPO Foundation in cooperation with the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts B&H. The aim of the classroom is to raise awareness about female creative endeavour in B&H literature and learning about female writers who contributed to the cultural development in B&H. The classroom was place of conversation about educational curricula and gender issues in language, literature and dominant male norms and culture. The young people talked to the director of the Museum Šejla Šehabović and curator Zlatan Delić about reasons why female writers were banished from memory although there is evidence about their work and deeds. Students saw the exhibition ''Razija Handžić's Poetry and Museum'' and permanent exhibitions. The third open classroom is scheduled for December 8, 2016 when the Museum welcomes students from Railway School Centre.

THE FIRST OPEN CLASSROOM IN THE MUSEUM OF
LITERATURE AND PERFORMING ARTS B&H

On the occasion of 16 Days of Activism campaign, TPO Foundation, beside its programmes of empowering and promotion of gender equality, will direct this year's activities to education of young people in B&H. Three open classrooms were planned in cooperation with the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts B&H where young people will have an opportunity to talk about invisible and forgotten female writers and reasons why there are no texts of B&H female writers in school curricula. The aim of open classrooms is to affirm young people for female creative endeavour that contributed to B&H cultural and literature development.
