Announcement of the promotion of the novel “Heaven in Your Heart” by the Turkish author Leyla Karaça.

The TPO Foundation and the University Gender Resource Center are organizing three promotions of the novel “Heaven in Your Heart” by the Turkish author Leyla Karaça in Sarajevo, Mostar, and Tuzla.

The first promotion in a series will be held in Sarajevo on September 12. starting at 6 pm in the premises of the Museum of Literature and Theater Arts. In addition to the promotion of the novel, a panel discussion on the topic of space for women in literature will be held as part of all three events. During the panel discussion in Sarajevo, the attendees will have the opportunity to listen to the review of BiH writer Professor Adisa Bašić Ph.D. and B.Sc. comparativist Nikolina Todorović, while the panel discussion will be moderated by professor Ajla Demiragić PhD.

The promotion of the mentioned novel will also be held in the premises of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Tuzla starting at 1 p.m. Professors of the University of Tuzla, Professor Melinda Botalić Ph.D., Profesor Anisa Avdagić Ph.D., and professor Nihada Delibegović Džanić Ph.D. will present their reflections on the topic of space for women in literature with reference to BiH women’s literature and the opportunities that new authors have, as well as comparative experiences between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey in the field of women’s literature.

The last promotion will be held on September 14th starting at 18:00 in Mostar in the premises of the National Library. The panelists of this event are Professor Irma Marić PhD and Professor Merima Jašarević PhD from the University “Džemal Bijedić” in Mostar. The focus of this panel will be on the question of what the novel as a form represents in contemporary society, the spiritual motives that appear in the novel “Heaven in Your Heart” and the relationship between the ego and the heart.

During all three promotions of the novel, the author Leyla Karaça will be present at the mentioned events. As a reminder, Leyla Karaça was born in April 1976 in Istanbul. She graduated from the Department of Philosophy at the Middle East Technical University in 1999. She worked as a teacher in various schools. Her translations, poems, articles, essays, and short stories have been published in various magazines and literary journals.
