INTERDISCIPLINARY CLASSROOM ''POLITICIZED MEMORIES''

The first classroom in the planned series of classrooms will be held in Zenica on Friday, April 22, 2016 in the Museum of Zenica Town at 11:00. In this kind of interdisciplinary approach in learning and research methods in humanistic and social disciplines we gather all the existing platforms and initiatives interested in work on the public good through the following programme themes: politics of memories and building of social solidarity, research of trauma in daily life, cultural production and witnessing trauma.
The need for questioning and coping with the past events and not only with those from the recent past, but also with the events that happened centuries ago and left their trace in our cultures is needed today more than ever.

This is the time when societies in the area of ex Yugoslavia have less tolerance than ever for the other and different, when our communities turn to revisionism and in the end to the extreme right where the dialogue concept of culture cannot find its place. It means further delay of coping processes with the previous war therefore justice is not served what would bring faith back in the judicial institutions to all of us and victims of war in particular.
In such moments scientific and interdisciplinary questioning of all traumas seems essential in order to begin the processes of extensive de-traumatization without superficial overlooking of certain events, counting of victims and we do not think about injustice lived by those victims all these years since the truth and justice should not have double or triple standards.
