PROMOTION OF A COMIC BOOK “NIRA” AND WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN ZENICA

TPO Foundation, Sarajevo has implemented a workshop for young people, with the promotion of a comic book “Nira”, on September 17, 2015. The participants of this workshop were students from the First Gymnasium in Zenica. A lecturer, Monja Suta-Hibert, presented the project “Initiative for Creative Dialogue and Education” (ICDE) and, through the interactive lecture, spoke about socially engaged art and civic activism, stressing the significance of volunteering as a one of the forms of civic activism. The young people, who participated in the workshop, shared their experience of positive

activities in their local communities and talked about the current issues in their communities. Moreover, they talked about floods that happened in some areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing the importance of being informed about human rights and government’s duties and responsibilities. The conclusion of this workshop was that everyone should have equal opportunities for changes and that we all have a responsibility to be active and work on establishing better environment for young people and a community in general.
