Violence against pregnant women in Bosnia and Herzegovina - family, health system and labor relations - Zlatan Hrnčić


The Gender Action Plan (GAP) at the University of Sarajevo has been developed in accordance with strategic national and international documents in the field of gender equality, and contains measures that will contribute to the affirmation of gender equality in order to prevent and combat gender-based violence, gender based discrimination and sexual harassment as well as to ensure integrity and quality in higher education.
The Action Plan for Gender Equality at the University of Sarajevo will, through concrete activities, contribute to the improvement of gender equality at the University of Sarajevo in four primary areas:

  • Improved gender equality in all areas of work at the University of Sarajevo
  • Scientific and extracurricular Teaching staff at the University of Sarajevo shall have  strengthened  capacities to promote gender equality at the University of Sarajevo  through the creation of training programs and conducting trainings.
  • The Integration of principles of gender equality through work with students of the University of Sarajevo.
  • Improved gender equality in scientific and artistic activities and productivity of the University of Sarajevo.

The activities of drafting the Gender Action Plan were undertaken by representatives of the Center for Research and Development of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. dr. Maja Arslanagić-Kalajdžić, Nina Begović and Jasmina Gradaščević-Pleh, Maida Čehajić Čampara and Azra Bećirović from UN Women, as well as the coordinator of the Gender Equality Council of the University of Sarajevo prof. dr. Jasna Kovačević and the director of the TPO Foundation and the leader of the UNIGEM project, prof. Dr. Zilka Spahić Šiljak.
